Delta competition

Last month I went with my sister Sylvie and her children (Yoan, Léa and Maëlle) to see a Delta & Parachutist competition. We found a nice place close to the lake, where we could see pretty well the landing area…My nephew, Yoan, took the pictures… He is a really good photographer…

Movies !!!

I decided to also share with you some of the movies that I see.
I finally saw the new Superman movie… I did like the beginning, but the quarter before the ending was OK.. I did find the movie a little predictable; I was able to guess most of it… And of course with that ending, we will be hearing soon about the making of the second movie…

This movie was awesome, Joyeux Noel, it was made with the collaboration of 3 countries: Germany, England and France. It's base on a true story that happened during I WW. I recommended to be seen on Multilanguage setting, it's easier to follow who is who and from which country they are from…

Philippe's visit...

On July 6th, my cousin Philippe, his wife Patricia, and their children; jean-Philippe and Marianne, were travelling in Europe, and we were lucky to get in touch and organize a dinner with my sisters. They haven't seen each other in 20 years; it was a really emotional moment for me…

Dinner: Pizza and salads
My brother-in-law : Valter (Marie-Jo's husband) and then me and Patricia....

My sisters : Marie-Josée and Sylvie
Patricia and the children watching a movie…

Preparing everybody to take the first family picture …

Afterwards we went to show the rabbits to
Jean-Phil and Marianne…

Lunch time at the lake

Yesterday at lunch, after a morning in a room with computers, we decided to eat in a park and get wet… Lucienne, a classmate took her camera to take pictures of me (she didn’t get into the water). It’s not the same as the ocean, but I’m happy to have water close by and be able to swim.

Grr…, the water it’s so cold…

Finally in the water, after who knows how many minutes…

After the “swim”, time to eat, I’m starving…

Frog tale !!!

One morning, I was barely awake, I got into the shower,…, and boom I felt something between my legs It was a

Yes, it was a frog… Not the first one in my bathroom, but the biggest one. It seems that Leo (my cousin's cat) likes to catch frog and brings then to my bathroom

That frog stay there for like a week, he was good at hiding, so we had to wait to be two to catch and take it outside. The good side of having a frog, less flies…He had plenty to eat and there is a small leak in the shower, so he had plenty of water.
Today I found another one, it look like he was dead, but mmm I had my doubts… So I left there, and came back after dinner. Guess what… he was ok, so I try to take it with a towel, and you won't believe he fake it again… The good side it's that it's easier to take it out.Now I'm really careful when I walk into the bathroom, just in case…

I've been tease by my family with the whole frog thing (there has already been 4 of them). My ant says that I should write a book. A couple of nights ago she was telling me that Leo brings them because as Diane the goddess of the hunt, he brings them as an offering,. And then my uncle had to add that it some culture the frog is symbol of Fertility….

Well I'm finally able to post a picture of me…watching the news…

An old friend !!!

Sometimes I like to take a walk by the lake, and to visit an old friend from my childhood.

When I was little, my grand-mother used to tell me the story that Charlie Chaplin moved to Switzerland “his house it’s close to where we live and his wife still lives there" (she even show me road to take to get to their house). Chaplin’s wife has passed away and now she lays next to her husband. 5 years ago when I came to Vevey, I looked everywhere for the statue (I did not remember exactly where it was) and since then I like sometimes to visit it…
By looking at pictures related to Charlie Chaplin, I just learn that he passed away the year I was born, I haven’t visit the cemetery yet, but it’s pretty close to where my uncle lives (so, for sure I will go one of this days…).
I leave with his story, the one that appears on some brochures

Charles Chaplin (1889-1977)
Anglo-American Actor and Director

In 1943 at the peak of his career, Charles Spencer Chaplin married Oona, daughter of the dramatist Eugene O’Neill. During the MacCarthy era, one year after producing “limelight”, he left the States for Europe. In 1953, the couple settled with their children in Corsier, at the Manoir de Ban, a property surrounded by century-old trees. The family was quickly adopted. The children went to the local state school, and the local cinema showed their father’s films, much to their amusement. Every year, Sir Charles and Lady Oona Chaplin used to go to the National Circus Knie when it stopped at Vevey; they were much loved by the community. Sir Charles and Lady Oona Chaplin are buried in the cemetery of Corsier

Since then...

Well I had a really interesting week-end. Especially I was really happy because Portugal won against England; I hope they will win the World Cup.
On Saturday I went to my sister's place and we were all together for a BBQ, it was awesome (sorry-no pics cause my niece forgot to bring back the camera)
Then on Sunday I went to the famous "Montreux Jazz" (look at link) where I got a Tattoo…
Jejejeje…no worry it's a fake one in Henna… just a little bat on my right arm…
So far I'm still looking for a job, but I'm also receiving computer classes, paid by the unemployment…
On Friday I will return to the Jazz to see a Brazilian concert (Annie won the tickets) and on Saturday shopping… (BIG SALES)….

Fisrt day of the World Cup

Everything is going great !!! A little sad cause we were beating tonight and of course a little humiliated during the first match of the World Cup… We still have a chance to at least pass to the 1/8. This year my 3 teams are playing, the next match will be hard, France vrs Switzerland !! I will have to split my self in two for that one :-)

I wanted to share with all of you a poem, I hear it for the frist time in a movie, which I saw again here and I was able to find it on internet, apoem that I felt in love with… For those who saw “In her shoes” you’ll probably recognize it, and for those who haven’t seen it I strongly recommended. I really enjoyed the movie…

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
not fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

E.E Cummings

This poem makes me think about all of us, no matter how far we are for each other in a certain way we do carry each other in our hearts…

News from Switzerland !!!!

4 weeks now since I moved to Switzerland. It took time to get used to the change specially the cold, even got the flu and I got stuck into bed for 2 days…
I haven’t found a job yet, but I’m taking a class to learn everything necessary to be part of the “employment market”…

These are the views from the area where I’m staying, where my uncle lives. Just imagine going out on motorcycle and seeing that amazing view. Well it was an awesome experience… Also a new experience, going at 120 km per hour… He sold that motorcycle and got a new one, so I hope to get to go on that one soon… My brother-in law also has a motorcycle, and of course I got a trip too… I still miss going out on motorcycle with Mike, but I’m glad to get the chance to continue to travel on motorcycle (hopefully one day I’ll be driving !!!!!).

I also spend some week-ends visiting my family (sisters and children). I even got to go horseback riding with Melodie (my niece), it’s been a while so I was a little concern (ok I was scare !!) to let the horse run, specially that she was in no mood to be “obediente”, but it was nice to share the experience with my niece

Here you can see me in action (I’m glad I’m far so it’d impossible to see my face…)
This week I have to b-day in the family, so I’m excited to share with them for the first time the event.
Now finally the winter it’s taking his luggage and it’s leaving the place to the spring ( he took his time to come…) so the temperature it’s going up, which make the heart on this bird of the tropics happy…
